Michael Shaara recounts to the account of the Battle of Gettysburg through the eyes of the commanders and men associated with the activity of the fight. Lee, Joshua Chamberlain, James Longstreet, what's more, John Buford. Michael Shaara says of Lee's purpose behind battling the Civil War , He found that he had no choice...Lee couldn't threaten his own. Thus what at that point? To hold on and sit idle? General Lee isn't an advocate of war, yet he will serve his nation with respect and obligation on the off chance that essential. A man of beliefs and respect speak to the character of Union Colonel Joshua Chamberlain.
